Muses to Manuscript: Using Archetypal Story Structures to Weave Your Poems into a Complete Work of Art
Every Monday in November, 2 - 4 pm, PST/ 5 - 7 PST
In Real Time and on Replay Online
Offered on a Sliding-Scale Donation Basis. Suggested Donation $50 - $250
Ready to put together a full manuscript, or even jump into a longer piece of writing? On the first day of this workshop, offered the last Monday in October, we’ll review some basic story structures people find useful in writing books. In the following 5 weeks, we’ll cover the 4 types of poems most poets forget to include in their books. We’ll talk about why they are necessary and how they fit into most story- structures but are often missing from most manuscripts. Then participants will generate those “missing” poems, and find the ways they fit into the overall arc of their manuscripts. Participants will walk away with a better understanding of how to turn a group of poems into a full collection that has a satisfying arc.
October 31st - The Virtual Poetry Dive with Kim Rosen - offered on a donation basis. (This is not a Poetry Salon workshop, but I highly, highly recommend it. I’m going and, to quote Frost, “You Come Too!”)
November 1st - Join The Daily Poet before November 1st and get 25% off on your membership. Use the code TWENTYFIVEPERCENTOFF.
