Who We Are: Poets who attend our workshops have been nominated for Best of the Net, Pushcarts, and other awards. They have had work published in publications such as Poet Lore, Prairie Schooner, Rust + Moth, and even been featured in The Best Poets of the Year edited by David Lehman. Other poets who write with us pursue the art for love of the art itself. Both “public” and “private” writers are welcome here.

Workshops We Offer in The Daily Poet $49/Mo

• Beyond the Basics: Master core poetry techniques – imagery, metaphor, sound, and structure – and apply them in fresh ways. Ideal for poets at any stage of development.

• Special Topics with Guest Poets: Each month, a guest poet leads 4 workshops on unique topics like ecopoetry or the poetry of witness.

• Unhinge Your Head with Jon Pearson: Take flights of imagination and dive into depths of emotion by writing from your gut instead of from your head. The only rule in this class: write something new!

• Finding the Heart of the Poem (An innovative editing workshop): Learn an innovative approach to editing and receive feedback in a collaborative, supportive environment.

• Editing Games: Unlike in “Finding the Heart of the Poem,” in the Editing Games we play with our revision process, looking for new ways of seeing the work, making it stranger, and trusting in a “happy accident.”

• Private Feedback via Email: We know you have a busy schedule. If you are unable to attend a class in real time, send a poem to Tresha for feedback at a time that fits your schedule.
